I think the Quali is dying...will only work with DVI now

DVI isn't designed to handle sound. It's normal to have to use a Dolby Coax / Optical for sound.

That brings up the issue of, the unit has no Analog capability. Sounds like more than a bad Solder joint. :(

Well Iceberg, I got a similar problem with my Sony DVD burner!
I decided to hook it up so I can copy my Total Gym exercise VHS tapes to DVD. I hook the yellow cable to Video Out (of the DVD burner.) to the Video In on my TV. No Picture! The sound is ok. I did this and I did that, no results...
Changed the cables, nothing. I paid a big price on that DVD burner and the warranty was long gone. I never had any problems with this burner. Used it when I made copies of the "how to" shows I recorded with my Directv DVR. I had the burner stored away until today.
Sounds like you and I got a POS.
I know, this is not related to FTA, but the principal is the same. So, Iceberg, you're not alone in this turmoil...

I know Lak.
Iceberrg didn't mention anything about the sound and I was curious about that when he was telling us about his situation. If he can get the picture thru the DVI cable and still can get sound, then it is not a total lost.
I sure hope something can be done about the Quali problem.
