I keep losing one channel

Got the antenna up and running, but everytime I go for OTA signal, the local ABC is not there and I have to add the Digital Signal Again. Signal strength is in the high 80s. The CBS station is not too far from the ABC and I don't need to even turn the rotor. The CBS station is on the Dish 811 receiver but the ABC station is missing. This is the second time that has happened.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Pete

I don't know your location but it is very possible that an analog station in the distance may have "Propagated via Thermal Inversion" and corrupted the local digital signal. When this happens you usually have to rescan (on some models you can just dial up the real RF channel the digital is on and it will decode) to get it added back.

Very strange. "Propagated via Thermal Inversion"...never heard of that but that doesn't surprise me...LOL

I did a rescan, it found all the channels. Two hours later, ABC and also FOX this time fell off. As I needed a large directional antenna, I have to assume that they were both on the fringes.

Kind of frustrating to see them there, not do anything and then "poof they're gone".

Thanks for the response,
Pete
