Please forgive me for asking questions that have probably been asked by newbies like myself, a million times over.

I am not expecting this site to become the "Satellite for Dummies" education forum, but does the Uplink report mean that the channels uplinked, are either active for viewing or going to be?

If not, in layman's terms, please explain what "Uplinking" actually means.

I will learn the satellite jargon quickly, I promise. Thanks for your help.

Uplinked means that the channels are being transmitted to the satellite. Uplinked however does not mean that the channel is or will ever be available to customers.

Normally when new channels are uplinked they are only seen by the engineers.

There have been many channels uplinked (such as Yes Network and INHD) which were being transmitted by Dish Network but were never made available to customers.

Can I swap out SD DVR for HD DVR w/ current cables?
