PS vue is also similar to sling. With both you get your ESPN channels, Fox sports channels, news channels, ect.
One thing that vue offers that sling doesnt (or didnt) is some of the local RSNs. Which is nice for some extra sports.
Way to expensive for starters and who knows how long they will be supported
Kodi is a free platform with so many updates and is for somebody who has a lot time to kill and patience

If streamsmart is just another method of streaming video services, then why the trepidation regarding support?
Because the equipment they offer without they're support cost around 25% or less plus they use content that is free on the internet

The equipment costs a fraction of what they charge and you have no guarantee they will continue to update the box when the illegal streams change let alone any that are legal. Most people into that just buy a cheap android box and put kodi on it then find the info online

Quite frankly, when I first heard of it and the "you can watch anything" claims, I immediately became skeptical.....In fact, I am skeptical about the entire tv streaming technology.
I cannot find any information on whether or not I can view for example live professional sports. No one is going to give provide something for nothing or at a fraction of the cost.
I guess I am too set in my ways to even give it a try.
I go on the rokuu site and it lists all these services. No subscription prices. No reference to the things I like to watch.
I watch live stuff on my computer. For example, I can watch live NASCAR through the nbcsports.com stream. But one can only do that if they already subscribe to a pay tv service...So of roku or hulu or one of the other streaming services requires a pay tv subscription, pay per view or some sort of fee comparable to what one would pay for say, the MLB extra innings, what's the point?
The legal options are still a form of pay tv.
Kodi is in big trouble, due to the ease of pirating. I doubt they are long for this world. I hope they go to prison.
The last two RV shows I went to had vendors selling Kodi boxes with pre-loaded pirated software that let people watch SOME copyrighted and not paid for programming. One idiot was dumb enough to approach me, trying to tell me it was legal and a good deal. I got angry and said I thought we'd shut down you criminals. She got scared and backed away. The something for nothing crowd didn't even notice.

Give me the short short version on the pirating of on line or streaming tv...Thanks....Let me speculate. Are the so called pirate streaming device providers grabbing on line content and sending it to their servers and then their device users can access the content?
Sorta. The Kodi box is legal. But it easily allows pirate software to be loaded on it that can steal programming. More details must come from others.
The kodi software itself is as legal as any other media software. It can be used for illegal things however if you install certain add ons. With those anything from streaming tv shows, movies, and even live programming can be found, with varying degrees of quality.
I do not think Kodi itself is going anywhere, but they are (and should) cracking down on people selling "fully loaded" boxes with the software installed.
Perhaps after that they will go after people who use it illegally to a degree.
Thats probably as far as we need to go into this particular discussion on the capabilities of Kodi however.
