i have a 311 ? HD question

i just bought a new 46 inch sony lcd hd.

i have a 311- and no hd service.

i unhooked my dish 311 and can get hd with rabbit ears on cbs, abc, and such.

is there a way i can get this without unhooking my 311? because when i watch tv through my 311 (i get locals over dish--$5)-- i dont get them in HD.

so to recap---no dish network i get HD on cbs and the locals.

with my 311 hooked up --no HD.

i would like to not have to unhook my 311 and plug in my rabbit ears for hd--can i do both somehow?

Your TV should certainly have inputs other than the coaxial one. The 311 should certainly have outputs other than the coaxial one.

Ya, plug the receiver into your composite inputs and plug the antenna into the coaxial input.

Ya, plug the receiver into your composite inputs and plug the antenna into the coaxial input.

Composite = Yellow,Red, White. Connect your 311 to these.
Leave your antenna connected to the Coax connection on the back of your TV.

You could hook the antenna to the ant./cable in on the receiver and turn it off to get locals ota.
