Last night around 10PM I was watching a show and all of sudden the system said it was writing information to the system after what seemed 30 minutes it reset and I looked up the info and it had software 4.05, I used to have software 4.09. What the heck is going on and why did they do it in the middle of my show when I have the update setup at 4:00 AM. Come on Dish you're getting closer and closer for me to throw you out.

Yup same here on all the receivers.

Which was good, I didn't like the new signal meter. :)

It said my signal was 52 when before it was up around 118.

I wish E* was not so tight on software info so we'd know what the heck was going on. That was one thing I liked about D*, you knew what you were getting before you got it.

I agree 1000% Scott. I think the more logical way to approach the signal meter is to reduce it back to 100 scale and keep the higher signal readings. It looks stupid to have a reading of 118 go down to 52. Even my dad ,who is 67, knew enought to know that higher signal readings meant better strength for the signal. Directv uses this 100 scale too I believe. It would be a more uniform way to do it. I know I had hell trying to understand the readings on my once rock solid signal strengths.

Ready to go Dish if I can solve these questions...
