I found this doing a search for the latest 4k Client devices. and I Noticed the logo and name on some of them. I wonder if this means they have decided to keep the DTV name and not use UVerse anymore?

I got a feeling they have realized that Directv has a name that everyone knows and expect them to keep it ....
It will probably eventually be. ATT Directv

Unless they only want to be known as just AT&T because people know AT&T just as well as DTV? However why emboss the AT&T DTV on those boxes only to change it later? They also officially filled for trademarking DTV under AT&T. They might not even need TV after AT&T since their already two T's in it. I know one is for telegraph but if they drop the DTV and UVerseTV names maybe people would think one of the T's changed to TV?

Watch...It will be called DirectAT&T........or AT&TDirect......Those names both have a long history...cant imagine elimination one completely?

Nearly all Frontline employees and vehicles have been rebranded completely to AT&T. Even in non uverse markets.

Interesting thought...
Out of the 40 trucks we have, I think 3 at most have been re wrapped .... so far.

Personally, MY truck will never be rewrapped (I would be really surprised) ... it's too old.
Yet they won't move me to a newer truck with AC.
The young kids get them.

Do you know what the plan was before that happened? Was it going to be AT&T TV? That kind of makes since they said the merging of the two platforms wont happen until 2019. Maybe when they launch the merged platform with new Gateway that is when they will launch the new name? However would it be too late for launching a new name and DTV will be entrenched with AT&T. I like that combo but I don't like how they call it DTV/ATT. I would think another reason for a new name would be to get people to say they are with AT&T and DTV?

Good point. I just don't get why they wont announce any concrete plans on how they are going to merge the two platforms and what name they are going to use. Are they afraid of a competitor stealing some of their ideas?

They really don't have to tell anyone about any plans ...
They didn't have to tell us they were merging either ... they could have waited till it was all ready ... they people would have said, see they threw it together and it wasn't ready, if it doesn't work great.
As for the Name, I don't see what that matters in the overall scheme of things ... who cares as long as it works.
