Just had to say it.

HD is still 'magical' to me.

Because of that, I honestly don't want to see CSI in HD. I mean, so it looks nicer..its still CSI.

VOOM to the rescue. My parents have a new DISH & 622 DVR and for the entire week I was there it was M A G I C

We watched Flipper in HD, Thunderbirds (the one from the 60s), U.F.O., some crazy monster movies, and SUNRISES*.

*I know this technically isn't VOOM but you get the idea.

MAGIC. Thats what it was.

Oh we flipped over to ABC once or twice, but again; HD is MAGIC and watching a repeat on ABC in HD is not magic.

Thats all. Hats off to the folks at VOOM and DISH for providing this amazing service.

Directv fanboys can 'laugh' at VOOM all they want. But you know what I have to say? HD is MAGIC and I want the first experience with HD to be as exciting as the new hi resolution images on my TV.

Kudos again to DISH & VOOM. I hope VOOM never goes away. :D

Give it a few weeks. Your enthusiasm for Voom will fade. ;)

No way! (Well the fact that VOOM & the Dish setup is at my parent's house 550 miles away and I probably won't visit them again until Thanksgiving might have something to do with that..)

If you have kids, then you find you can enjoy that stuff all over again. OMG..the ant & aardvark?? I hvaen't seen that show in 30 years. The pink panther cartoons were great too! And who DOESN'T love Gerry Anderson & those great shows from the 60s & 70s.

Watching Flipper also made me feel 7 again. My daughter wanted to watch it EVERY morning so we dvr'd it every day the we week were there.

So..for now I'm still enamored with the idea of the all-HD all-the-time commercial-free channels. I'm sure after awhile there's repeats..but I guess I wasnt there long enough to notice.

I have had Voom since it came to Dish.

I love Flipper, some of those old cartoons, I can't get enough MonstersHD and many concerts on RaveHD get played here over and over.

As a matter of fact, after comparing a week of RaveHD next to MHD, I like RaveHD better.

and with the Voom channels, when there is absolutely nothing else on, there is something educational or just fun on the Voom channels.

I love them.

Nine months later and Voom is still magical to me. Yeah, maybe its faded a little, but so have most of the non-Voom HD channels for me.

Voom is peace and serenity to me. Wonderful thing to have in this hectic, crazy, overwhelming world.

I've had Voom since nearly the very beginning with the Voom service. I was an E* customer, went to Voom when it started up, and then came back to E* when they went under, but luckily got to keep most of the Voom channels. (It was 21 channels when it was on the Voom Satelite Service, not it is just 15.) Still watch Voom quite often and enjoy a lot of the things it offers.

The problem with VOOM is that there is so much repitition. I know that some channels claim to provide as much as 20 hours a month of new programming but that means that they have about 29 times thata mount of repeats.

unless this changes I would expect the VOOM channels to go the way of the dodo when more HD channels arrive. That may take awhile but I suspect that it will happen.

It would be nice too if there was an accurate schedule for some of the channels. I have tried to watch some programming on Animania but the guide was never correct and emails went unanswered.
