Quick question. Anyone have any luck making this receiver work with a Panasonic DVD recorder using the VCR IR cable? I have tried all the codes and nothing seems to work. Also, whats the lates Firmware for this receiver. Mine says 5104. Thanks in advance.

I have the E-86 and I think that 5104 is the latest and most likely the last version.
I have my E-86 controlling a VCR with no problem. I guess there are 2 possibilities for the DVD recorder not working:
1 - The IR emitter isn't directly over the receiver on the DVR. Are you 100% sure it's placed properly ?
2 - The 'old' codes in the E-86 can't run a DVR. In which case you are S.O.L.
