Can the the "digital audio out" cover on the rear of the HTL-HD receiver be removed? If so, how? Most components that I have seem with a "digital audio out" has an easily removable dummy plug.

When I had one, that was easy. Just get ahold of it and pull it out if you are talking about the plug cover.

I have the HTL-HD. I think the cover is just spring loaded "doors" that fold in when you plug in the optical input and close over the opening when the optical input is removed. I don't remember removing any plug.

Maybe I didn't either. I am getting old and can't really remember alot of stuff. I may have been fooling with something else. Could have been the Samsung 360.
