I wanted to build up a 3D underwater rig but didn't feel like spending the necessary budget for a pair of GoPro's and the 3D housing. So I went with this rig from Nabi using a home made T-Bar bench for the 3D mounting:
The Nabi kit can be purchased for a fraction of the price of equivalent GoPro, has the underwater housing and LCD screen bad viewfinder.
The HTC camera's design looks rather awkward and doesn't look to be a sports camera that can work in wet environment.
For a "GoPro for Non Pros," I think my Nabi rig is a closer twin, even if the main difference is the red body color.
Note- the Nabi kit is equivalent to the basic Hero with an LCD back accessory ( $200+). It does not offer the Hero 3+ or Hero 4 Black high end options, but the Nabi shoots in 1080p 30 fps or 720P 60. Street Price was $82 for the kit.
