What do you mean revert to national? Can I just do this the normal way I did my HR24 before the HDGUI was available by resetting and hitting the button combination and have the new GUI when it boots back up?

You can do it the same way as you've been doing. What reverting to NR means is that if you download CE and then decide to switch back to NR you'll go back to the SD blue guide.

Hi guys, I want to apologize in advance because I'm new to the forum and to CE. I just want to make sure that when the new firmware is released tonight for the HR34 all I need to do is the 02468 method to download the new firmware. Will this give me the new HD user guide and will this erase my DVR library?

Then, Yes, you use the process you mentioned.

You should NOT lose any Recordings.

HD Guide is back...I've missed you for so long (well a week)

Been stuck on the old blue gui for the hr-34 since the install a week ago. The old blue had issues with rebooting the box during recordings. At least I've lost that ugly gui - unless I have to revert.

I did my first CE download and it went off without a hitch and so far everything seems to be working perfectly. All of my settings were retained. Main differences I've noticed from the old software is that the menus are loading much faster, but the channel changes seem to be a bit slower. My feedback probably isn't of much help since I only have the one unit and not using the whole home setup.

only issue i see is a huge lag when scrolling through the guide. terrible. everything else so far seems good. and despite the annoying lag in the guide i ain't going back to the old gui

Issue: Several Pinks Screens - Just a Few Seconds More was Pink, follow by a solid darker pink. These occur before returning to normal with the Running receiver self-check screen.

Issue: 30SLIP - Can't get beyond one Slip at a time. And that first one even goes backwards. Keywording 30SLIP get function to work.

Issue: More Info Button - Clicking Info Button does not default to highlighting the Channel Banner's More Info Button

Issue: More Info Deletion - Deleting a Recording from the Program's More Info screen doesn't always take you back to the PlayList. Instead, you are often booted to Live TV or some other GUI screen that's not the PlayList when you have looked at other GUI screens while watching the Recording. (A carry-over issue from the SDGUI)

Issue: Scrolling Effect Switch - The ON/OFF Switch is not recognized.

Issue: Recording Tips - Recording Tips are showing up while Settings/Display/Preferences/Recording Tips setting is in the OFF Position.

Issue: My DIRECTV - What's on Now - One of the four What's on Now are showing correct correct posters, but time for one is 6:00a at 11:30 PM

Issue: Audio/Language - Setting in BLANK in More System Info screen wen set to English

Issue: DirecTV2PC - Info - Well a couple of weeks ago CE got the HR34 Recorded programs to show in DirecTV2PC, but each Recorded Program Info is mark Unknown on all those that I checked.

Issue: PlayList Not Staying Current - PlayList is still not being updated when changes are made to Client PlayList. This started when 5B3 was installed to my HR24s.

Issue: Series Manager Boolean - SerMgr Boolean for THIN MAN TTITLE &{movie} - While it was able to find today's TCM movie, the HR34 did not schedule it to Record. SerMgr Settings was set to 'Both.'

Issue: Guide Data Lost w/Single Reset - A Menu/Reset does refresh PlayList, but all Guide Data is lost. This is another carryover repeatable.​

Is this REALLY an issue, it happens on all recvrs IF it what I'm thinking your saying.

It has a short time that it goes pink when its going thru it's reboot process, then thats it .... everything is fine from there .. or is there more to it than just during reboot ?​

Actually it doesn't really happen to all my receivers (hr24)but it's after you do a reset. The startup screen is pink which really isn't a big deal. But druzifer is having a lot of issues. I've reseted a few times today but can't get rid of the guide lag when I press page up or down.

For the scrolling effect I had the issue but after selecting on then exit,went back in and selected off again and it worked. everything else so far is ok. Druzifer I'll keep looking at the issues you posted to see if I can produce any of them on my hr34

Ok, see I get the pink screen on my recvrs, both HR20 and HR24, for a small part of the reboot process, it's doing some kind of check and then it moves on and its not an issue after that.


Were probably talking two different things, I don't have a HR34 to try and duplicate your issues, sorry.

Going to see if I snag this tonight. I got installed today with one HR34 and 3 H25's. That guide on the 34 is awful compared to the H25.

Same here. No big deal though. I rather they work on the other issues
