HR34 30 sec skip on satellite receivers

In whole home system, when playing a recording from an HR34 on a h24 or H25, can you use the 30 sec skip (or slide) function?

It wasn't clear to me if the slip/skip is determined by the setting on the HR34, or configured at each viewing location.

Also we have one H25 where the SKIP sometimes SKIPs all the way to the end of the program so we tend to just use FFWD on that TV)
