Anyone else getting a video stutter every 15 minutes or so on FoxNewsHD? It's very quick, about 0.5 seconds. It normally happens towards the bottom of the screen, but sometimes the top section. I used super slow mode and it looks like the picture is splitting in two horizontally and then back together again extremely fast. I think it's been going on about a week. I only notice it on the FoxNews HD. It may have something to do with the sidebar, but am unsure. When I pause it, the side bar is all the way in the center and far left of the screen. Again, this happens in a flash, like 1/2 a second and it's done.

It seems to be showing up only when the sidebar is there. Today (Sunday) had less shows with the sidebar, and I didn't notice it. No other channels exhibit this behavior.

I hope whomever takes care of FoxNews HD/Directv figures out this is happening and stops it. Since it's been a week, I wondered if it was just me. Now I wonder why Directv doesn't report/fix it. If we call Directv, how do we get it to a rep that will get the report to the right place? I think I'll email Directv, can't hurt I suppose.

Thanks for responding.

HR20 and H21 with NO issues here, so maybe its a user issue or a HR22 only issue? That needs to be determined.

Only saw it twice today in 2-3 hours. If you blink at the wrong time you can miss it. If you watch Fox News regularly, you'll probably wind up seeing it.

Saw it happen 3 times on Fox and Friends in a 30 minute time frame. I wonder what the heck it is? Looks like I'm a minority. Any other HR22 people in the house?

charp, I wonder how we would determine the issue? How could it be a "user issue?" I checked my connections, and even replaced my HDMI cable. Why would it be only 1 channel?

Called D today. Got escalated to the next level, and was told they will get in touch with me soon. I hope they can fix without replacing my HR22 DVR, which is 55% full.

You did all you can do; I was referring more to DirecTV determining. Just to know and not that it will matter in this case, but that HDMI cable is a v1.3a cable?

Being just one channel for you a HR22 user and not happening for me a non-HR22 user, does make it mighty odd to say the least. I would not bet to likely on getting to keep your current DVR; they are big on unit replacement.

That's what I was afraid of, them replacing my HR22, that has more than 50 hours of HD content I haven't gotten around to watching yet...oh well...life happens.

Yes, bought a 6 pack of HDMI cables at monoprice a while ago:

HDMI 1.3a Category 2 Certified Cable 28AWG - 10ft w/Ferrite Cores (Gold Plated Connectors) - BLACK

I use the 22AWG CL2 from monoprice, but the same cable none the less. It is so odd you would get it only on one channel.. Is it so bad that if they come out and can't ID the issue will you just keep the unit you have until the next full firmware upgrade?

I'm not sure. I certainly don't want to give up the storage space of the HR22, it's awesome! If I did exchange one HR22 out for another, it may have the same problem, that I may not identify until after they leave because it's intermittent.

It's not really "so bad." It took a while to bug me. I tried all the resets/unplugging numerous times, changed the HDMI cable, tried native on/off. Perhaps I will wait for another firmware release. I suppose I'll see what happens if/when D comes out, and what they have to say.

Since it is only one channel, I was thinking it could be a system wide problem, but I guess not. One other person said they had it. Maybe because the HR22 is relatively new? FoxNews HD is relatively new? Who knows.

What Im seeing on my H20 is what I would call a stutter.

Watching smallville yesterday there would be a sudden screen pixeling and audio skip/stutter and both would go back about a second to a second and half. I've seen it on other channels but cant recall what they were and it only happens on the hd channels so the issue is not specific to dvr's.

Hey, how funny, I had that too on the last Smallville. It was towards the beginning of the show. That's what I would call a network problem, not something that is always happening. I get those occasionally, and did so even with TimeWarner HD cable before I had D.

I wouldn't call the FoxNews HD "pixeling" or pixelation, however it's spelled. With FoxNews HD, it happens the same way all the time, every day for more than a week. Varying from every 10 minutes, to once in 2 hours.

My problem doesn't have a known name that I found. I'll make one up, it's a "video screen shift." Sounds good to me. Super slow-mo reveals the screen breaking in two, shifting horizontally for 1/2 a second and then back together again. Just enough in frequency and speed as to not bother a person until after a good week of the same thing happening time after time.

Confirmed the "video screen shift" as I call it, is also on my H21 non-DVR HD receiver. So, I believe that rules out the receiver as the culprit and it must be a signal issue. Unless this is a network problem, and hardly anyone is noticing it but me.

I called D to add that info about both the receivers, and asked about the escalation time frame. Was told normally within 48 hours, which is by tomorrow that they should get in touch with me.

My sats strength are mostly in the 90's and even a few 100's here and there. A couple of 0's and 60-70's but not many. I don't know exactly which sat is FoxNews HD.

Only 1 channel having problems seems strange to me, like it's a network problem, but wouldn't D know about it by now and have fixed it if it was? Plus, the support rep said he checked and didn't find any notices about it.
