HR22-100 and Samsung LN-T4071F via HDMI

When DTV first hooked up my TV (March 08) the install tech said an HDMI connection from the receiver (it was HR20-100) to my TV would not work and it has to be connected with component cables; is there a reason why my TV and receiver (now HR22-100) wouldn't work via HDMI? I think I am going to try that when I get off work; unless there is some known issue. Thanks

You got a tech that was an idiot. My friend has an HR20 and has it hooked up via HDMI to his DVI on his Sony 56".
