IS D* going to add the alternate guide that the HR10-250 had? I found it superior to the grid guide and faster. Its like pulling teeth to see say what movies are showing on HBOHD for one day. Looking for a new movies during the week would be ridiculously tedious. Its so much easier with the other guide, IMO. As it stands now its easier to go to HBO's website than to try and see a schedule for one channel for 24 hours. Am I missing something here?

No word on a different guide layout. What you can do is in the guide, cursor over to the channel number and then press info, it will list all the programming for that channel which you can then scroll through.

There is a reason why it's called the "Tivo" style guide and isn't found on any other DVR. ;)

Having said that, as rad posted, arrow left to highlight the channel number and then hit the info button. You'll get everything on HBO for the next 2 weeks. With one touch recording I can set a dozen movies to record in less then a minute. Much superior to the Tivo IMO.

I still like Windows Media Center version a bit better but I did not know this. You learn something new every day. Good info!!

Definitely, I didn't realize this either. It should be added to the new HR20 tips post.

Done. You guys can add this stuff too. I only started the thread but didnt mean it to be a closed thread. Its an open thread for anyone to put their tricks, tips and non-obvious methods in there. :)

I still haven't messed much with my HR20 (just installed last week), but this is great to know. I still need to spend some time in the 'tips' thread...

I am going to organize the tips area better but I was treating it as a brainstorming session for now. So throw ideas in there and we can see how the dust settles. I do think there are some interesting ones so far that others have shown me that I stuffed there.
