 I just upgraded to a new HD receiver and have several shows remaining on my 721 that I would like to view. When I attempt to view the 721 PVR programs, the ACQUIRING DATA FROM SATELLITE screen appears and I can NOT get it to go away without hooking the 721 to my satellite.

Any suggestions that would allow me to watch the PVR programs without hooking to a satellite would be appreciated. This would allow me to watch the NEW 622 and also catch up on the old 721 programs without changing wires. I plan to switch between inputs on the HDTV.

Thanks!!

i use to watch my 625 in my room when i was getting new roof done. without any satellite signal, i would just press DVR twice and it will bring up my recording menu.

To me this would be no different than watching a DVR program when there is severe weather happening that might cut off signal.

Yes, hit the PVR button and select the program that you want to view, the program starts BUT the "acquire sat..." message is in the middle of the picture.

The same is true if trying to view OTA HD programming with the dishes disconnected. I nearly got a migraine trying to resolve this when I took the 622 to a friend's so we could watch the Super Bowl in HD. FWIW, it can be done, but it shouldn't be such a hassle.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I connected the receiver to the sat and let it sit overnight to download guides, etc. I then disconnected from the sat and it seems to function OK for watching PVR. It has now been functioning for two days.

What's up with the French Open channels?
