Have install tomorrow. I use Packett 8 VOIP. How do I setup my downstairs new H20 with my VIOP? I have a buffalo router at my TV. Do I have to run a 50ft phone cord to my VIOP box?

A phone line is only needed for ordering PPV via the remote or caller-ID. Otherwise you don't really need it. Some VOIP works with the DirecTV receivers and some types do not.
I had heard that they authorize the NFL ticket each week only if your phone line is plugged in. Did they stop this practice?
