how to watch one channel while recording another with a DVR?

I just switched to single mode now I can record up to 4 channels. Before I could record 2 channels and that was it.

Not correct, but I can only say that so many times. Maybe someone else can help you.

On the 722k with OTA module, in dual mode you can only record two channels on output TV1 (one OTA and one SAT), but you can also record 2 channels at the same time on output TV2 (one OTA and one SAT).

2+2=4.

In single mode it must all be done from output TV1, because output TV2 is disabled.

Turning on shared view in single mode ports output TV1 to output TV2 in single mode.
