How to get 6 tuners working.

Here is what I currently have:

One ViP622
Two ViP211
DPP44 Switch
Dish 1000

I want to add 2 additional single tuner receivers to this configuration. Can I chain a DP34 switch to the DPP44? I can't find a solid answer on that. If that configuration will work, how do I need to hook it up? Also, if I purchase the two additional receivers and switch myself, will Dish let me add them to my account only having to pay the $5 monthly fee each for two additional receivers?

No,You can cascade 2 DP 34 and get up to 8 inputs tuners.

I have a DP34 cascaded off a DPP44. Works fine The DP34 is hooked up to a 311.

Yes can cascade a DP34 from a DPP44. Maybe I dont understand your question but why do you need to? If your 622 uses one line from the 44 and the 211 uses one line you should have 2 unused ports. That would work for 2 more single tuner receiver or even 2 more dual tuner recievers with the sperator. And yes you should have the power inserter on port 1 for a DPP44. Some will say they are not needed etc, but it just is smart to have it there as they were designed.

What everybody else said, you can cascade a DP34 off a DPP44. If the single tuner is a 211, you pay $6.00. If it's a 311, it's $5.00.

Also if you go with a 311 or 301, you can use a DP21 off the DPP44. Just feed 119 and 110 off the DPP44 to the DP21.

i'm confused as to why you are buying another switch, you should have 2 open outputs on your 44.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I believe the DPP44 supports 4 tuners. I currently have four tuners in operation.

You are wrong. DPP stands for dish pro plus. That means you can use the proplus technology with separators. So a 44 switch allows you to hook up 4 dual tuner proplus receivers to it if you are using separators. Therefore you can hook up to 8 rooms this way or 8 tuners if you will.

In your configurations, you need to use port 1 and run it to the room with the 622. Then use a separator to split the signal to the rear of the 622. On port 2, hook it to the 211. On port 3 hook up the other 211. You now have port 4 open. You can either add 1 311 or 301 single tuner boxes or 1 722, 622, 625, 522, or 322. So if you keep your 622 and 211 hooked up as is, then you could have 6 rooms hooked up at your home without the addition of a 34 switch. And yes a 34 switch can be cascaded off a 44. Just remember it is not proplus, therefore cannot be used with separators. The 34 does only allow 4 tuners.

If you need more than six, you will need to sell your 211s and get 2 222s or add a 34 switch and run all your single tuner boxes off of it. Run your dual tuners off the 44. If you do it this way you can have up to 12 without adding another switch.

Yes, and the cheapest. You definitely need a 34 if you are using both tuners of the 622 for one room.

You cannot use separators with a 34. Your only option is a 44 switch or keep the 2 wire setup.

44 switches are expensive. You would come out better just buying a dish 1000.2. This dish has a built in proplus switch which allows you to use 6 tuners off off 3 ports. Then you do away with both 34s.

Ken, the context we have been talking about is his dual tuners, therefore when I said 6 tuners I was talking about his dual tuner receivers. Nobody said anything about 6 independent tuners. I'm not telling people how to use a 1000.2. I was telling this guy how to use a 1000.2 in "his" application in order to use separators.

The post was updated to include 2 211's. Yes the DPP 44 switch will support 8 tuners, 4 receivers. Your cheapest bet is to daisy chain a DP34 to the DPP44. Leave any dual tuners on the DPP44 so you can use the seperator. Plug single tuners into the DP34 or whats left on the DPP44. Single tuner needs a single cable so it doesnt matter. With this setup you can run 12 tuners or 8 physical receivers. Would be cheap, DP34 can be had on ebay for $20.
