how to download from dvd

Can someone please tell me how do I download the stuff from my dvr 626, I do not have pocket dish. can I download it to my computer and make a cd or dvd.

I had my 510 and do have my 622 connected to a dvd recorder. I set off the movies recorded on the dvr and hit record on the dvd recorder. Both receivers connected to the dvd recorder via s-video and composite audio.
