How to connect additional remote to Dish 510?

Hi,

I have two remotes - both 6.2's - and I'm trying to connect the 2nd remote to the same 510 receiver. Both remotes are set to address 1, as is the dish system. One of the two remotes works just fine, the other has no control over my set, although it works on another family member's Dish 508.

Any suggestions? Unlike the first remote, the second has an A/B switch under the battery cover which, of course, I have tried on both settings.

Hi Brian, 6.2 remote should work fine with the 510 receiver. It should be set to Band A and the chip on the front of the remote should be black UHF Tab. Is the remote address on the other 508 set to the same address as the 510? When you attempt to readdress the remote to the 510 receiver are you able to use the remote to exit the system info screen? Thanks!

Wow! Fast response. It never occurred to me to flip the color chip to black, as the first working remote is green. Works great!
