I was never an administrator but I was a staff member for awhile---albeit nota very good one. MY approach was to come up with some ideas and volunteer to help carry them out. In my case the ideas never really took off and my schedule precluded em from doing mush more so my time asa staff member ended.

But if you want to pay the site back for what it has done for you---and if you have some free time----try to think about what you think you could do to be useful.

I would strongly suggest becoming a Pub member.

When the need arises to expand our staff, we talk about whom we feel will best help the site.

Scott will you merry me!? J/K There is alot to learning the ropes and becoming an adimin here. You have to know what you are doing and scott and the other admins take great care when choosing admins and mods here. I wouldnt mind learning the ropes admin wise also, But I would want scott and the other admins to feel that its the right choice for them.

from what I've seen most admin on the site wouldn't ask .. they do it for the passion of the hobby and I respect that more than anything else ..

There has been at least one staff member who was not a pub member, so that is NOT a prerequiste
