Need some help guys due to "receiver limitation" on the Pansat and Geosat

The Dial Global mux on AMC8
SatelliteGuys.US_TheList - 139.0°W AMC 8 C

has a bunch of different audio PIDS. The one I like is the classic country one. Its the same feed as a local AM station plays but the station is pretty much daytime only (they drop to like 12 watts at night and I'm 25 miles away so at night and when semi bad weather is around it doesnt come in...plus they pre-empt it with Twins games)

Today I noticed they moved the PIDS around and mine isnt there anymore (It use to be language 20). I know the pid was 1208 so I manually added it. Here is where I need some help probably from the PC guys.

How many different PIDS are there on that TP and what are they? I dont need to know the music type (I can do that on my own) but the Geosat only will show 4 audio PIDs and the Pansat can do 20. I remember my old Craptiveworks did like 30 or 32.

1101 through 1114
1120
1201 through 1218
1220
1221
1223 through 1229

looks like 42 PIDS...

cool

Guess I'll have to load most of those into the receiver and see what they are :)

Thanks!

Tony,
There are over 50 PID's on this tp. Looks like just about 50 with substantial audio, but the screen won't hold still for me to count them. PID ID's 44D-45A , 460, 4B1-4CD, all HEX , of course, seem to have substantial audio bit rates.
:)
[edit]
AC, doesn't surprise me that you beat me to it !
:)

No problem...glad to help :)

It looks like 1120 has a lower bandwidth than the rest...it's only running about 42k so I'm sure it isn't being used for music...

I just checked it and it's silent...

Edit...it looks like the 1100's are used for talk and the 1200's are used for music...
Edit again...1110 is the Sirius Nascar Radio show and 1109 is used for Motor Racing Network...

Some time ago at Rick's i posted a list of the PIDs with info regarding what was each PID, i'll see if i can find it and post it, if not i'll see if i can get all of those again and post an updated list =).

no biggie. ACRadio posted the pids. I'll go through them this weekend :)

What's funny is a fair amount of these feeds are on radio stations near the cabin...about 2 1/2 hours north of Minneapolis so the only difference is commercials

Due to the same issues you adressed in the first post (my Pansats couldn't get all the PIDs and neither the Fortec/Viewsat and CW's... well at least not all of them with the CW's), so i added one by one on (filling in all the possible blanks) ChannelMaster and checked which ones had audio, which didn't, i took note of that, then i added one by one in a list, so each APID was paired with their own invented VPID, so i could name each station... it took me a weekend hehehehe.

Those listed are the ones that had audio, there were more audio channels intercalated but were silent at the time.

1107 - (107 Mono) Michael Smerconish (Live Noon Eastern show)
1209 - (209 Stereo) Bob & Sheri

The previously listed 1216 (216 Stereo) for Greg Kihn also has the "Big Boy Radio Show" and 1215 (215 Stereo) has "Music City Saturday Nites" on... get this, Saturday Nights (8p eastern i think)

1109 and 1110 are used for sports, not sure if MRN is on Dial Global's satellite anymore, they switched to them and may have switched back to Citadel... i'll figure it out and post it.

I hope it's of any use :).

Cheers!

Mike

I think this will help. They use Wegener Unity audio receivers which require authorization, but I really don't know what for, as everything is encrypted. If you are a radio station that needs programming, you can get it via Dial Global. I'd like to see what the stream looks like in TSReader.

that TP is not encrypted. As I noted above I listen to the classic country one all the time
pid 1208 (208 on your list)
