How does 922 compare to DTV's HD HR2x DVR boxes?

Are there any users here that have had used both receivers?

I was thinking of adding a second DTV DVR but the cost of that would be about the same or more as moving to Dish and getting a ViP 922.

My biggest complaints with the DTV HR22 is sluggish response to commands and occasional audio problems.

Besides the Sling functionality (big plus) how do they compare?

922 IS WAY WAY BETTER then HR boxes. I have used both in 24hrs and HR boxes sucks soooo Sluggy

Ah, so you get what I'm saying about the HR2x sluggishness -- drives me crazy. Scrolling the guide is a frustrating experience. So I take it the 922 is zippy?

I did check the first look pdf and it looks like the UI is really nice. It appears they designed it as an HD device. The DTV boxes don't really take advantage of HD for the guide and menus. It's a SD designed UI that just upscales.

yup. I know how my girlfriends BOX HR@ what ever is slow as FUDGE on a BAD DAY.
