How does 2 hopper / 2 joey install work currently without integration

Since integration of the Hoppers is not available yet, if I get 2 hopper / 2 joey install then how do the joeys pick which hopper to connect to? Is there an option on the Joeys to pick which hopper or does the system have to be wired so that each joey is slave to one of the hoppers?

You can pick which Hopper the Joey is paired to in the software.
