How do HD fees work now?

My mother in law is about to update her 20+ year old console TV and SD DVR, how does Dish do HD fees now? I have HD free for life but know that is long gone. She will not go for autopay or paperless billing and does not use email at all.

I am hoping to get her updated to a 722 with HD for little to no cost. She knows a new 2 year contract will be required to upgrade.

64468 is zip. I wondered about the dish and LNB. I am in same zip and have eastern arc dish (we can do both here) and set up, not sure what hers is.

She's on Kansas City spot beam, like me, which is on both Eastern and Western arc, so doesn't necessarily have to be 129..

Kansas City is standard definition on WA and high definition on EA.
