I have an HD receiver in my kitchen with 1 wire coming in from the attic and I have a HDDVR in my den with two wires coming in. I want to move the HDDVR into the kitchen but my understanding is that I won't be able to record 2 programs at once unless I add another cable from the dish. Can't I just get a single wire module and use that to connect the dvr in the kitchen? Where would I get one and would it work?

I would highly recommend contacting WeaKnees. They have the SWM-8 with the power inserter for $199.

I just installed one and I'm happy that I did. :)

What models are your HD receiver and HDDVR?

I have 2 HR21's and 1 H21

Another question.....if I don't get the swm, can I still use the dvr with only 1 sat wire? Would that mean that I could only record 1 show at a time or it wouldn't work at all?

Yes it will work with just 1 line into it but, you will only be able to record 1 channel at a time. If you are recording you will need to watch what you are recording.

I have SWM and it is well worth the money.

Wow, thanks for the info VegasDen. Dish has similar technology but you have to split out the signal just outside of the box.
