Hopper

I have an external drive connected to the 722K and I want to upgrade to a hopper. My question is if I plug my EHD to the hopper will it reformat the drive and erase all of my recordings? If it don't erase them can I transfer the recordings to the hopper drive or just watch them from the EHD ?

You will be able to transfer your recordings seamlessly. When you attach the EHD from the 722 it will not reformat. I switched from a 722/612 to a 2H when the Hopper first came out and I loaded my HD with shows from both old boxes and then moved them to the Hoppers.

Or you can watch the recordings directly from the EHD without transferring, which might be the safer bet as there have still been some sporadic reports of recordings getting corrupted when transferring them to the Hopper. (Recordings made from older ViP receivers)
