Hey guys,

Any help would be appreciated. Sorry for the long post. I have searched high and low for someone with my problem, unsuccessfully.

I have a Hopper 3 and 5 Joeys. On Demand on my Hopper 3 doesn't work on EPIX, ShowTime, and FXM. However, it does work on my Joeys. I cannot download movies on EPIX/Showtime/FXM from my Hopper. When I press the Watch On Demand button, nothing happens. Again, it works fine from my Joey's. After I initiate the download from my Joey's, the recordings do show up under Rentals on my Hopper. I can watch those recordings from any Joey. I cannot watch them on the Hopper. When I select Watch from the Hopper, nothing happens. It's as if the Hopper isn't authorized to Watch/Download the content.

I have tried the following unsuccessfully.
- Turned off Bridge mode
- Performed a factory reset
- Unlinked and Disconnected all Joeys
- Installed a replacement Hopper from Dish
- Put the Hopper in my Router's DMZ.
- Used my mobile phone as a hotspot to rule out my ISP.

This is incredibly frustrating. I can't imagine this is normal or everyone would be complaining.

Thanks for any help,
Steve

Have you tried unplugging your Hopper for 30 seconds and then plugging it back in? The fact that you can initiate on demand and view it from the Joey is important. The Joeys are actually getting those recordings from the Hopper.

Agreed regarding the importance of the Joey's getting the recordings successfully. All recordings are being downloaded by the Hopper. It's just that the Hopper cannot initiate or view the content. Very strange.

Regarding unplugging the Hopper, Yes. I have tried this a couple times. I have also received a new Hopper from Dish and continue to have the same problem.

THAT'S the strange part. Makes me zero in on the HUB. They do go bad, as I had one replaced back in March. Long story, involving the tech dissing the idea, but I was ultimately proven right. Try switching the cables to the client ports and see what happens. Can't hurt.

Does the On Demand work on other channels other than EPIX, Showtime, and FXM? Are you connected to your network wireless or wired?

Yes. OnDemand works on HBO and some other channels when initiated from the Hopper. OnDemand works on ALL channels if the request is initiated from the Joey.

When downloading, speeds are generally 120 mbps. My connection is wired.

I just tried On Demand from one of my Hopper 3s and it works OK. Selected movies from EPIX, Showtime, & FXM. All downloaded and would play. Also tried the movies from the Rental folder and they all worked. So I guess it is an issue for sure in your H3 system someplace.

Let me know if there is a particular movie you want me to try out.

Thanks. No need. You confirmed it works for you on those channels. All movies fail for me on those channels when initiated from Hopper. Works fine from the Joeys.

As I stated initially, the strange thing is all the downloads initiated from the Joeys show up under Rentals on the Hopper. They can all be played by any Joey in my house. The Hopper cannot even Play the downloaded content.

I wonder if DISH can send some kind of hit to your Hopper to get it going!
