I was inquiring about a new dish I might want to get from Panarex which is local to me and got an email reply with this pictures, Panarex 4.5FT Prime Focus with floor stand which is 2" OD !!!!

These aren't new models, in fact when I purchased a 3ft ring mount prime focus back in 1999 they already had these 4.5ft in-stock but kinda pricey. Now I see they still have them available after all these years.

The 1.2m dishes are 48"/120cm. This one is 54" / 137cm and with an easy floor stand that involves no drilling, what else can you ask for.

The price is actually very nice too and no shipping involved, just simply drive there and bamm.. come back home with it.

nice haul!

Not sure how that mount works. Would be fine for fixed.
Maybe there's some non-obvious but easy way to motorize.

And the floor mount looks a little wobbly, IMO.
Probably want to reinforce if bolting it to your deck.
The 2" OD sure makes for an easy 'n low cost yard mount!

HOWEVER, I'd jump all over one if the price is right... and apparently it is! - :up

Would make a dandy mini-BUD, or a hell of a Ku-dish... just get the right feedhorn for Ku.
Lookin' forward to your exploits!

edit:
Oh, #%&*! They ARE local! PM me with more. :)
I assume it's steel and not aluminum, just based on the fact they are an importer.
Did they say how much the dish weighs? I was wondering if it's too big for Sadoun's DG380?
Of course, you'd need to fabricate a mount that'd offset the dish properly . . .

I just emailed the guy re: the weight if the dish alone.. lets see what he will say

Anole pretty much hit it on the head...would work fine for a minibud (probably a little better) and would be great for KU

opinion:

If you're thinking about C-band, then the SatAV CK-1, or WSI DMX-741 would be good choices.
The stock scalar is fine.
For regular Ku along with your C, the above might be acceptable.
However, the Ku will be under illuminated.
Maybe on a dish this large, it won't be a major drawback. :)

If you had other dishes for Ku, and wanted to go mini-BUD, C-band only, then probably any of the low cost LNBFs would be fine.
The C2 from SatAV would offer lots of flexibility in feeding multiple receivers.
Follow it by any 2x4, 3x4, or 4x8 multiswitch, and you could rule the world. :D

If your goal was just the hottest Ku-only system, then the AF-120 feedhorn from Invacom is probably the only answer (that comes to mind).
Onto that, you could bolt a QPF-031.
If you can deal with a bandstacked Ku LNB, then a surplus FSS from a SuperDish will bolt right up to that horn.
(I don't see the Eagle Aspen version on the Global-CM website, any more) - :(

The guy i delt with is off today, so I'll be informed on the weight on this dish tomorrow or friday

I liked this dish caz:

1) Totally Local
2) The size is perfect for HOA crap
3) Perfect for mini cBand
