In addition to getting a friend onto the "DSR-410/Birdview "bandwagon", we're also getting his first FTA system installed. (member: nicknjen)
He's running a previously "enjoyed" Viewsat 9000-HD. We thought we had some issues with a 22khz switch, so it is bypassed, and will be replaced by a diseqc switch soon.
When directly wired to the C-band side of the two-band LNB (a Geosat C/Ku) we scanned what we thought aws 91w C-band, but the identifier for the Ku Nimiq1-ku showed on his display. However, with scan complete, the C-band channels properly popped-in clear as a bell.
We believe that the former owner ran hackware that could be confusing by wrongly labeling satellites saved, and would like to flash the unit back to original. Unless I missed it, did not see this original software posted here, which is where I trust it to be what it should.
Are we on the right track with our suspicions, and...can anyone direct us to the latest available factory firmware? The unit does have the 8psk functionality which I understand is necessary for HD to function?
Thanks for any help the membership can lend!
