Help with new set up!!!

I have an old, regular dish receiver. Dish wanted $149 for one. I bought one from a friend for $25. Is all I do hook it up and call dish to tell them I have one? Please help!!! Thank you!

That's about it. Assuming your friend sold you a receiver they actually owned, rather than leased, and removed it from their account without a balance owed Dish. More assumptions: your old dish receiver was a legacy standard definition receiver, and your "new" one is also a standard definition receiver.

To mom04: If you send the receiver number in a PM to me, I can make sure it would be OK to transfer it to your account. The receiver number can be found on the back of the receiver, it will start with "R00".
