Help with my old receiver?

I recently moved from Wyoming to NY,NY I have a vip222k and an old 301. Everything was fine on the move and I added NY locals. I primarily use the 301 in the kids playroom. The problem is they told me I can't get locals on the 301 and infact no I don't get anything on the 301 except info commercials and a few sports. I tried the card from the 301 into the 222k and it works fine. What is the issue,

I'm not sure a 301 will work in the eastern arc. In fact, you can't even get a 301 authorized anymore in either arc...

No, a 301 will not work on EA. You must replace it with a 211 or other HD receiver.

The earc uses a different compression format the the warc. You need a VIP receiver or Hopper here on the east coast.

Your 222 probably has a built in card, the one for the 301 probably didn't do anything since the card is married to the receiver and won't work with any other receiver.

301 is done wont take activation, if you have 1.2 or 1.4ea will not work at all. should have arranged a dish mover tech will check out if the system is ok.
