Help with diseqc switch setup for c and ku band

I am getting ready to connect my 7.5 mesh c band dish and a 85 cm ku band dish to my fortec ultra. Right now I have a bsc 621-2 c/ku band on the bud and it is locked down fixed. Later I may get a vbox II to move the dish. I don't need the ku band side on the bud right now and I am just going to use the c band side of the lnbf on the big dish for c band and use my 85 cm motorized ku band dish for ku band.
Am I correct in assuming that I run the cable from the bud to the diseqc switch and the cable from the ku band dish into the diseqc switch to run both dishes off my fortec. How far from the receiver should I use the diseqc switch inside or outside the home? Is there any other tips I should know before doing this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Make sure the motor is before the switch (receiver -> motor -> switch -> LNB's). Mount the switch such that the ports are either covered from weather or at the least mounted horizontal, there is no need to place it inside.
