I have searched the forum and cannot find an answer so I will try here. I have only one dish receiver, the dish has 3 LNB's and I have one tv. I don't have hopper or any other other accessory's. My LNB has 3 coaxial cable's coming out. I am an old timer and I know nothing about electronic. My wife was chopping leaves with our zero turn lawnmower, she hung it on the dish, knocked it out of alignment, banked it up then hooked on the wires and pulled out every thing, all the way to the house. I have dish reinstalled and close to alignment. I want to rewire everything from the dish to the house. How do I wire the 3 cables from the dish LNB to the one tv in the house. Do I need a splitter, a switch or what ? Help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
Robert

You have the same lnb I have. I was recently told you only need one line per receiver. Check your older lines to be sure. Look for any diplexers and what not.

What I can't figure out is if I only hook one of the 3 lines from the lnb, what di I do with the other 2?

The switch is built into the lnb. That lnb is usually associated with a ViP receiver. Only one line required per receiver (ViP) unless your receiver is a Hopper. The extra lines are to feed other receivers otherwise. You may be better off having Dish roll a tech to fix everything. It may cost you a visit fee or you may be able to get the CSR to waive the fee.

Thank You but I can't afford a fee an the present time.

So you can remove the two unneeded lines of coax and run just the one line to your receiver. you will get all three satellites from one line. As jim5506 stated the switch is in the lnb and combines the signals. You will have fun aiming the dish :drunk

I installed a dpp 1000.4 and a dph 42 for some reason I can only get 1 satellite. I can get 61.5 or 72 . If I move the dish . I am pointing at 61.5 now to receive most of the programs. What would cause the receiver not to pick up both satellites. It should actually get 3 satellites. The run switch shows 61.5 and a all red com . Any ideas?

I have all 3 lines going to the switch. It’s only finding one satellite . The check switch says I have 2 locations but one is all in red . It should show 3 .
