Help!!! Receiver only works though PS3!!!

I recently connected my receiver through a splitter that was connected to a second tv which also was connected to a Playstation 3, now every time I disconnect the PS3 to play my XBOX 360 the satellite receiver in the main room loses signal! I have since tried to eliminate second tv with PS3/xbox and connect the main tv directly from receiver box to main tv and can not get any signal, if I connect back to second tv with PS3 connected the signal strength is again fine I have never had this problem or any problems making a connection it all seems very strange to me, I have unplugged the receiver for several minutes and tried to replug into main tv hoping it would reset and work but no luck.
I hope someone could steer me in the right direction to resolve this problem, thanks in advance.

Please explain better how you have things connected. SWM is the only signal that works with SPLITTERS.

Basics: Cable from dish to the DirecTV receiver.
Output of DirecTV receiver to the TV and your PS3 and XBOX also are connected to the TV.

out to vcr/input out to splitter into 2
TV's The PS3 is connected to 2nd tv through RCA cable

Please elaborate as to what Input and outputs you are using on each piece of equipment. .
