I moved and got my service installed last August. At the time, I needed the extra dish to get locals. My friends recently upgraded to HD and they are getting everything off one dish now.

Is there a way for me to tell the receiver to look for my locals on the main dish and get it away from 72.5, so I can remove the smaller dish entirely?

I have the 5 LNB dish, slimline.

The receiver model is HR20-700

Just looked at signal strength and I am getting "available transponders" from 99 and 103, (s) and (c). Signal strength varies from a low of 77 to a high of 91.

Go through satellite setup again and specify slimline 5 as the dish, no 72.5. That will remove the 72.5 dish from the system, since you do not need it any more.
You will have to delete and set up again any series links you have set up to record from the locals.

OK, will need more specifics.

I just tried Slimline 5 only, and it said "Errors found on Tuner 1." It has an X by Even (18V) 99, 103, 119.

Also, it has three fields:

Dish Type: Slimline 5 & 72.5
Switch Type: 02: Multiswitch
Tuners: Dual

Do I need to change Switch Type and Tuners as well?

There is also a warning at the bottom that says "B-Band Converters required." Not sure if that is relevant or not.

OK, start by changing the dish type to Slimline 5 only. You will need B-band converters on both the inputs on the HR20 otherwise you will not see any signals from the 99c and 103c satellites. Do you have BBCs connected?
Until you have the correct dish configuration and the BBCs it will be difficult to see if you have any other issues.

If he has the 72.5 sat, then there must be a WB68 multiswitch involved in order to integrate the 72.5. Is the 72.5 disconnected from the WB68? It may be needed to be disconnected or the system might get confused. Also, try bypassing the WB68 to see if setup can be completed.

OK, I just set it up on Slimline 5 and it works great.

The installer getting my locals was a small miracle, it was mounted to the floor of my balcony - now it's out of the way.

Thanks to everyone for your help.

It should work even with the 72.5 still connected through the WB68 but I think I would agree with you, it's best to remove it.
