Are you looking for help receiving Dish or Sky Mexico on your PCI card?
Or are you interested in other programs on the many satellites viewable from your location?

Welcome to the forum, I understand one of the challenges of FTA in Cuba is having to hide or camouflage the dishes, and sometimes even manufacturing them in your own house.

Flakomix,

Welcome to SatelliteGuys!

I did not understand the intent of your posted message. You will have to clarify your intent for us, but I do wish you to understand that our forum does not engage in the capture of encrypted signals without paid subscription to the provider of the service. We will not discuss or allow to be discussed any form of theft of service, even if you are not on US soil. In other words, NO PIRATES. :)

I do not wish to chastise you on this subject right off the bat, based simply upon the fact that I didn't understand your post, but I do wish to forewarn you of this particular policy of our forum and the guidelines that our members adhere to very strictly. I just want you to be aware of our policies in this regard so that you do not get your nose poked. :)

The above rule being said.... WELCOME and bring on your questions and chat with us! You have arrived at probably the absolute BEST satellite forum in the world! I personally believe that there is none better. Hands down.

Lot's of luck to the OP. If he's in Cuba, I can't imagine the risks he's taking posting here.

I was thinking the same thing.. last time I was in Cuba, I would have sworn the internet for the general population was filtered up the wazoo with the exception to resorts.

@ DJ-- Driving through the country side, I did see a few dishes including one w/ an expressvu logo on it. I also do remember seeing a lot of off-air antennas.

Cheers, K

Yes, I understand some dishes are smuggled into Cuba (I´ve read sometimes camouflaged in or as surf boards), and the Cuban folks sometimes have to improvise and create their own "dishes".

Funny, odd... Isn't it? That the Hispasat satellite and the Cubavision channel are of the top prizes for us FTA'ers in Mexico, the US and Canada?
Yet the article states that "Cuban TV is boring.... There isn't much variation". What the heck are THEY watching?

Hee hee! :)

At the resort, I remember seeing CBS, TBS, CNN, ESPN, BBC etc. I figured the feed was being provided by Mexico.

Yep, or what do they want to watch ? OK, granted some educational shows may be boring, but I have also seen they have local sports, baseball mainly. I have watched NBA basketball (ESPN logo on screen), also many shows are aired with the original logo on screen (CBS, CTV, etc). As to the technical aspects of how the cuban tv is acquiring those signals and shows, I can only imagine. ;)

I believe that Spain actually owns the satellite, Hispasat.
Where the actual individual feeds emanate from could be diverse.
The Cuban government (media division) probably leases one or more TP's.
