Quote:
- poor HDMI/DVI connection
- firmware incompatibilites (either SA or the TV)
- no HDCP on some DVI
- improperly setting up their STB "wizard" and "settings".
Etc.
Yes these are all good but My STB was working flawlessly for 6 months with HDMI ouput from Rogers HD8300 PVR linked to my Hitachi TX-100 using HDMI > DVI-D adapter . It all went to hell in a hand basket upon swapping out my burnt out bulb .
I hooked all up and viola the HDMI pic lasted 3 seconds before annoying flag screen error came up . I have tried all conceivable forum mentioned sequences to try and solve this issue and all have failed . This is also a new STB ( the old one failed to stay in the 1080i mode kept reverting to 480i ) so I had to swap it for new one as well.
I have come to the conclusion that the firm ware was rammed down our throats to close the HDMI port and once I disconnected and swaped out the STB I was SOL ...
If anyone has any newer info on this issue it would be most welcome.
Thanks.
