I have an HDTV. If i hook a antenna to the tv it shows digital channels. My question is if I bought a converter box like the TR-40, as I want to get guide information atleast a few days ahead, would the ouput from the converter be downgraded to SD or would the Signal be HD?
Thanks for your help.

TR-40 is a digital to analog converted, not an ATSC HD tuner.

You will get a beautiful 480i picture.

My DTV pal dosen't live up to the 7 day info. about 12-14 hours is all it is good for. I don't know if it is DTV pal or local broadcasters but it is just 1 more failing on this converter.

All ATSC tuners only receive the PSIP data that the stations transmit (virtually useless).

If you need longer term info try TitanTV.com

It's not a failing of the converter, it's controlled by the broadcaster. If you're getting 12-14 hours you're doing good. Most stations don't broadcast guide info that far ahead.

DALLAS ch. 8.2 is rebroadcasting KHOU

WRC-1 DC station video disappeared
