The next HDNet test pattern is on Sat Oct 27 from 0330-0340 pacific time.

I searched for "test p" on my 622 to find it.

It doesn't actually show up in the guide, but it's between HDNet Fights at 0300 and Nothing but Trailers at 0340.

All times AM.

Measure overscan (try for 2-3%), centering, grayscale (first step should be partial), grid pattern (straightness), resolution (expect no better than 7 unless you can turn off overscan rescaling), etc. for 10 minutes or so.
It is better with a DVR because you can hold them.
I have one from months ago so it has full resolution, don't expect best alignment.
It helps to have a 1920x1080i to check resolution.

The scale of overscan is not uniform especially the low numbers (near the edge)--they did not properly count the box lines. But by checking top versus bottom you get a fair measure when you add the missing number(s).
And thanks for the reference. I had noticed the diferent scaling of H and V numbers myself. It is better than the old Indian chief standard pattern still in use by many stations after 50 years.
