Since most FTA is standard definition, HDMI outputs are not included on most receivers. HDMI is primarily used for high definition. You would need a high-definition receiver (about $700) or a PC equipped with a PCI satellite card and a DVI output on the VGA card (DVI can be converted to a HDMI connection with a $30 adaptor).

Personally, I would prefer a dual-link DVI connection over a HDMI connection. HDMI is undergoing a change, with a new revision coming out soon. DVI is well-established, and, although it only transmits digital video (you need a separate cable for the digital audio), it is capable of moving the same uncompressed HD signal as HDMI.

EDIT: No need to worry about copy protection on FTA signals. The copy protection they refer to in your quote relates to digital connections only (doesn't affect the S-video or composite analog video outputs), and will most likely only be used on high definition subscription services such as HBO, Cinemax, etc.

The Quali-tv QS 1080IR HD receiver does not have HDMI outputs. It has a DVI output and a Component (YPbPr) output for video. It uses an Optical (SPDIF) output for audio. It naturally has the standard outputs for conventional usage.
