I use cheap (under $6) cables and could never justify the more expensive options.
What are your thoughts on HDMI cables related to their cost?

The Dish installer does not supply the cable, it comes in the box with the receiver. I have never had a problem with Dish HDMI cables.
To sum it up, a non issue. Whatever cable you have will work just fine.

Not necessarily. Interference can still cause corruption of the data stream in a poorly designed cable. It seems to me that the cable issue would be the integrity of the plug itself, right? The material of the conduit the signal travels through makes no difference, since we're dealing with a totally binary signal -- it's either on or off.
Does this refer to the insulation rather than the cable materials? Not necessarily. Interference can still cause corruption of the data stream in a poorly designed cable.
