HDMI Anad VIP622

After two years of having the VIP622 hooked up through component cables, I finally decided to get rid of the many wires and hook it up through HDMI. Unfortunately, throughout the day, there are color changes, complete grey screens, multi-colored "static" screens; its a few moments and clears up after turning tv on and off; any ideas/suggestions why this is the way it is? Probably just go back to component at this point but figured I post before doing so.

Early 622's had widespread HDMI port problems.

I went back and there are no problems. I guess my next step is to try and convince Dish to replace my 622? Anyone have luck with that?

Yep, last week. No problem getting a new 622. The HDMI port was dead. This was a very early 622.

I called in and they setup a cross-ship.

Off topic - I also got Cinemax added for a penny until 2010. It's an old offer, but I just found out about it. Autopay and paperless billing required.


Give them a call..they were aware of the issues with some 622 receivers and HDMI.
