HDMI 256 colors, Componment OK???

I had DirecTV installed last week and everything looked fine until last night. The receiver now is sending a terrible signal to the TV. It looks blocky and like there picture is in 256 colors instead of being normal. Is there a copy protection thing happening? I have the HDMI to DVI cable connected to my TV. However, when I only have the RGB cable connected, the picture looks fine on that input to the TV. Any suggestions?
