I just got a HDDVR installed in my livingroom which rpelacewd a regualr DVR. I wanted to move the regualr DVR to another room to replace a regular receiver. Problem is only one cable is going to that receiver. I have 4 cables coming form my Sat (2 to the DVR, 1 to a 2nd receiver and 1 to the 3rd) and I understand a splitter will not work. Any ideas of how to hook this second DVR up?

Either get rid of the other regular receiver and use that line, or use a multiswitch, the Zinwell 6x8 or 6x16 to get another line in from the dish.

I have a multiswitch they removing when installing the HD DVR. looks like it's 4X8. So I can just install that right on the 4 lnb cables? and there should be a problem?

You didn't specify which HD DVR you have, so I'll presume it's the new HR20-700.That being the case, NO you cannot use the 4x8 multiswitch you have, it needs to be the WB68 or WB616.
The reason being these that I mentioned will allow the proper frequencies to pass and work your systen correctly, with the ione you mentioned, you would not get the channels on the 99 and 103 sats.

I [ASS U ME D] it was an HR700 since he said he just got it installed.

If I understand the DVR inputs correctly, the second input is required for you to watch & record different signals. Since it's a secondary DVR, you might not care whether you can do that immediately. You may be able to just hook it up with one input until you get around to completing the multiswitch & second input installation.

I'm not saying it's what you should or want-to do, just offering an option.
