HD Receiver

I currently have a 222 receiver. This box has problems with my HDPVR. If I buy another receiver on ebay, do I just call up Dish and they can activate it? What other non-dvr receivers have HD? I only really need one tuner and component outputs.

Yes you just call dish and they can activate it. Check the serial numbers with dish with the person you are purchasing it from to make sure it can be activated. The VIP 211 is a single tuner HD box.

Apparently it is a known problem between the 211/222 series and the HDPVR that Hauppauge is working on. Are there any non-dvr hd receivers not in this series?

Non dvr HD receivers that currently receive mpeg4 are 211, 222 and 411.
