Right now as far as HD feeds go 61.5 and 129 are mirrors of each other. Does anyone know if it will continue this way or will all the new stuff only be put on 129? Right now I have a Dish 500 pointed at 61.5 and another Dish 500 pointed at 110/119. I am trying to decide whether to leave my setup this way or go to just one Dish 1000 to get 110, 119 and 129. Either way I am going to upgrade two 811 HD receivers to a 211 and a 622.

I am in southern Michigan and I have a good view to both 61.5 and 129. I think and agree as you do but since I was just fishing I didn't want to say that in the first place. My inclination is to leave my dish setup the way it is and worry later about any changes in the future.

I believe some local HDs are on 61.5...i could be wrong but thats why I thought I needed the two satellite setup instead of the Dish 1000

If your HD locals are not on the 129 satellite, keep your dish pointed at the 61.5 bird. The 129 sat has problems IMO. If you choose to point at 129, you will get a better signal with a seperate Dish 500 than you would with a Dish 1000. If you don't mind having 2 dishes, keep your setup the way it is.

I get my locals via OTA from Detroit and Toledo fed thru my Dish receivers and the picture is outstanding so the locals are not an issue for me. Anyway I am going to leave my 2 dish setup the way it is and just upgrade the receivers. Thanks everyone!

Is there a webpage that lists what channels are on which satellite?

I'm in the same boat. Just got a 622, have a Dish 500 pointing to 110 and 119, and a Dish 300 pointed at 61.5. I was considering reaiming the 61.5 to 129 to get HD content, but if its all on 61.5 then I won't bother.

I do live in the Atlanta area. Which sat has my HD locals?

So if I'm able to get all my locals via rooftop antenae, is there any reason other than to also get them via DISH to reaim my 61.5 dish to 129?

if you're getting a dvr, then yes cause you'll be able to record more than just the one local at a time you can watch ota

If you are a sports fan and look forward to E* eventually offering the RSN channels in HD, and you are in an area that is covered by 129, then it is possible that your local RSN HD channel will be on 129.

Where are E*'s CES Announcements???
