hd dish problems

Hi I just installed a 5 lnb dish and I only get local hd channels everything seems to be working fine but still no channels

You are receiving all your HD locals via sat but none of the others?

Post your satellite signal strengths please.

i think so im getting all my reguler channels and im getting locals in hd but none of the others

OK so you ARE getting all your subscribed standard channels and your locals in HD right?

So give me a few specific channels ("none of the others") that are NOT coming in. Names and number please.

oh another thing is that it fails 119 and 110 in the confirming satellite dish setup but passes 101. it says the error is that the dish is set to 5 lnb multi sat but the receiver detected two satellites

the screen is just black when i turn to for instance chan 72 espn

Any message on screen? 72 should be ESPN-2 HD

no none some channels like channel 78 says channel not purchased 721 but channel 72 is just black

another thing is i have a splitter in the basement. when i bypassed the splitter and went to the box i got 110 but didnt get a signal for 119. and with the 110 i did get some more channels

What about 73, 74, 75, 76, 79 ? Which do you get and not get?

all i get is the description of es2h at the top but when that goes away the screen is black

75 just came in but it seems a bit chopy 73 and 74 say program not available in your are 727

I am trying to determine if you are not getting ANY of the HD pack or just some off one sat and not the other. Are you 110% sure (by checking your online acct info) that you are subscribed to the HD pack?

74 should be Universal, not sure would be blacked out on that channel. Something doesn't sound right. What kind (make and model) splitter? That might be an issue? What type of coax cable?

actually 75 is out and says goodfellas when it came in i think it was cnn

yes i called 3 times last night to make sure they said i was but were not sure why this was happening

i get 623 nesn in hd and it comes in perfect

75 is TNT HD, RSNs and locals HD are on spot beams, and very high signal. Thinking "spliter" or not aimed very well. There are a few NESN area guys on this board, maybe post you zip and you should find someone real close that could help out.
